Mathematician Uses Scientific Formulas To Predict Who Will Die On ‘GOT’
Characters are constantly dying in George R.R. Martin’s “Game of Thrones” series. And as fans, we’re all dying to know who’s going to be killed off next.
That fan’s name is Richard Vale and he is a statistician at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch.
In the books, each chapter is told from the POV of a given character. Vale presumed that if a character has zero POV chapters, chances are, he or she is dead.
The problem, however, is the model doesn’t allow for common sense conclusions. It’s purely based on hard data and there’s not a ton of that to begin with.
But, according to the chart, it seems Tyrion, Jon Snow and Sansa all have a pretty good chance of dying by the time the seventh book rolls around.
Of course, Vale can’t definitively say who is going to die next. Maybe that’s a good thing as those mysteries are what make “Game of Thrones” and “A Song of Ice and Fire” so much fun.
